Thriller Workshop: Remembering Michael

MINNEAPOLIS - A whole new generation of dancers is learning to move like Michael Jackson, and we’re not just talking about the “moonwalk.”

M.A. Rosko checks out a “thriller” of a master dance clinic going on at the Lundstrum Center for Performing Arts in North Minneapolis.

Dario Mejia, Lonte Hill and Rikki Stokes are the special guest artists working with the 25 students signed up for the 2-day class.

On Friday, Oct. 16th, at 2pm, at the Lundstrum Center Auditorium, the public is invited to a free exhibition—watch the students show off what they’ve learned in a competition.

The Lundstrum Center for Performing Arts has a long, rich history in North Minneapolis. Dorothy Lundstrum taught dance, modeling and “charm” back in the 1920’s. She willed

her studio to the Casserly sisters, who have built it into a training ground for Broadway performers. The Lundstrum Center moved into its modern new building about a year and a half ago, at 1617 North Second St. in Minneapolis.
